if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us

I cannot wait to slaughter the fattened calf!

1 John 5:14-21

Beloved:

We have this confidence in God,
that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask,
we know that what we have asked him for is ours.
If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly,
he should pray to God and he will give him life.
This is only for those whose sin is not deadly.
There is such a thing as deadly sin,
about which I do not say that you should pray.
All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly.

We know that no one begotten by God sins;
but the one begotten by God he protects,
and the Evil One cannot touch him.
We know that we belong to God,
and the whole world is under the power of the Evil One.
We also know that the Son of God has come
and has given us discernment to know the one who is true.
And we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ.
He is the true God and eternal life.
Children, be on your guard against idols.

 if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask,
we know that what we have asked him for is ours.

Lord,

I know it has to be your will that she not be lost.  (My daughter) And I ask you over and over, day in and day out for this one thing.  Lord, I believe that you will grant it.  But I am so weak sometimes.  Like right now. 

I just hung up the phone with her and my heart is hurting so badly.  She thinks she has 'ssen' the light of truth and that she was fed lies all those years and the fact that she sees  so many of her friends from that time who have left you and who have seen the same 'light' she sees, that  false angel of light, only strengthens her belief that she now knows better. 

 I have to carefully scrutinize everything I say so that she won't get defensive and so that I don't close the door to our relationship.  I have to hold on to that hope that is in you, that faith that I cannot see, I have to hold on to Your Spirit that still resides in her even though it is covered by the muck of denied sin that surrounds it.  

Lord help me hold on.  My heart is bleeding from the reminder of her betrayal even though I know deep within my heart that the day will come when You will reign in her heart again.  

Thank you Lord, for sending her so far away geographically so that I don't have to be reminded of this more often.
