My personal reflection

My personal reflection is usually in the form of a conversation with God and usually includes both sides of the conversation. I know it's weird but that's how the Lord speaks to me.

I am not worthy to stoop to loosen the trongs of his sandals

Mk 1:7-11

This is what John the Baptist proclaimed:
"One mightier than I is coming after me.
I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals.
I have baptized you with water;
he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

It happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee
and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
On coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open
and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him.
And a voice came from the heavens,
"You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."

I am not worthy to stoop to loosen the trongs of his sandals

No one is worthy Lord, yet you stoop down to us.  You humble yourself so that we can have life.  You allow us to  reach you even in our retchedness, our sin and miserable behavior toward each other, ourselves and you.  Lord, I so don't deserve your attention, your love, your forgiveness and yet you pardon me.  Why, Lord?

Love, I love you.  I made you.  I made you the way you are.  I don't expect perfection.  I don't want perfection.  If you were perfect you would not need me.
